Failsafe have been part of the burgeoning UK scene since 2003 and have played with the likes of Cute is What We Aim For, Gallows and Anti-Flag. Failsafe's debut record came out in 2005, fast forward three years and it is easy to see how much they have developed. To wear out the tired cliché Failsafe are the real deal. Combining solid work ethics with extremely catchy melodies and choruses ensure this is one album of pure quality. For a band so young 'The Truth Is...' demonstrates the bands increasing maturity as musicians and songwriters. With the album clocking in at the forty-seven minute mark no track seems to drag on longer than it should, providing ample opportunity to listen again and again.
From the opening track of this album, 'Only If We Learn' all the way through to the final track 'Too Much Too Ask' the consistency is of a very high quality. Failsafe have drawn comparisons to bands like Brand New, Kids in Glass Houses and Hot Water Music in truth though its evident the band draw their influences from a far wider range of artists.
All superlatives aside Failsafe have constructed a truly wonderful album that will please their current fans and certainly bring them many more.
