The Charlatans, in my mind, have only ever written one song. It has then been repeated, changed in only the tiniest details, for the best part of 15 years and it is high time the band just stopped putting the same old rubbish out. There is a reason bands like this need to keep having 'come-back' singles.
Having never been a fan (can you tell?) it is difficult to like this tune at all, or indeed tunes from any bands that are desperate to sound like the Stone Roses. Lyrically, it is predictable and typically bland and I tired of it within about 30 seconds.
To be honest, I didn't like it. Thousands of floppy haired, indie, wish-things-were-still-like-they-were-in-the-early-nineties types will love it.
