Now, when it comes to buses I hate it when I'm trying to wind down after a hard day at the office and some little ballbag is blasting some crap rap tune at me, despite the fact they are generally half decent tunes, the mobile phone is not meant to be used a speaker system. Music is all about sound (Obviously) and playing any sort of music through ¼ inch mobile phone speakers just destroys it. Which is why, despite the fact the music is good; it annoys me when kids are playing music on buses because they are just doing it to be annoying. But anyway, 9/10 when you hear some tinny rap music on a bus from some little chav's phone it's likely that it will be N-Dubz.
Hailing from London, N-Dubz is taking British rap by storm with their mobile phone ready tunes. "You Better Not Waste My Time" is the sort of track you'd get if you get a couple of people with half decent ideas but without the original thought to pull it off.N-Dubz are good, don't get me wrong. Smooth rhymes, nice catchy choruses and typically RnB female vocals accompanying the whole situation. Where this track falls on it's arse is the production. It is the most generic rap production you could imagine. Moody strings & Xylophone-esque lead tracks with simple but effective drums. It's sad to say but despite the vocals being great this is an extremely middle of the road tune with little that grabs your attention.
