Black Light Burns - Cover Your Heart

I am never quite sure what to expect when a press release mentions an artist featured on a CD more than anything else. Is that artist, in this case Limp Bizkit's (remember them?) Wes Borland, the most interesting thing about the record? Well, apparently that is almost the case here today.

Cover Your Heart is a collection of particularly odd tunes and is essentially a covers record that pays homage to a diverse range of artists that have influenced Borland throughout his career. There is a dark side to the album that I really liked after a few listens, but this is not an immediately lovable CD. Unless of course, you love being in a gritty, passionate and angry place... this is pretty much what Limp Bizkit should have been but for that fool Fred Durst.
