From Beautiful South to this? I can't help but think - 'What has happened to Paul Heaton?' I just don't get this song. the lyrics are shocking, the track is certainly nothing special, and the instrumentation is busy and rushed.
"Let's drive off a cliff, that would be horiff." is the opening line of the chorus, and to quote Bill Bailey - "A couple of bottles of White Lightning and a rhyming dictionary.".

The whole CD is great. Mermaids and Slaves isn't the best song, but it's quite good. Give it another try.
