This record is comparable to the cinematic faux pas of the Saw trilogy. Everything trundles along nicely for the first thirty seconds or so, and then the shit hits the fan and leaves a terribly bitter taste in your mouth. I'm going to put myself out here and say this has nothing to do with the music. The guitars sound thick enough and the drums power through the mix with ease, it lies in the vocals. They don't fit the style of the music at all and it seems like Heave are just trying to jump aboard the Nightwish/Lacuna Coil bandwagon that peaked a good few years ago. Female vocals are not necessarily a bad thing within the world of metal, but the fact of the matter is that they're terrible and are no-where near the stratospheric sopranos of the aforementioned band's vocalists. It's safe to say your money would be better spent elsewhere.
