News - Alcopop Records - Free Sampler

View The Article

Here’s the press release in all it’s complete glory from Alcopop Records:

"Alcopop Records, the sister label of Big Scary Monsters (Secondsmile, This Town Needs Guns, Yndi Halda etc) is readying itself for a busy summer, kick-started by a free sampler CD and a huge all-day gig in London. The label which already boasts a back catalogue filled with the likes of Data.Select.Party, 4 or 5 Magicians, Hush The Many (Heed The Few) and many more has decided to celebrate the summer - not that this weather really warrants such a do - and wants to share the joy.

’AQA Does Not Much Care For Alcopop. Pimms Is Delicious’, named after a somewhat rude, indie label hating response from a certain text message answering service, not to be confused with the popular examining board, features 6 tracks taken from forthcoming releases. It can be downloaded free of charge from www.ilovealcopop.co.uk where a limited edition, made to order, CD version is also available, which includes loads of bonus MP3 and video content (details on website). The tracklisting for both formats is:

1. goFASTER>> - NHS Dentist
2. Cut The Blue Wire - Race To The King
3. Sam Isaac - A Cinematic Low
4. Pavilion - Clarity
5. This City - With Loaded Guns
6. My First Tooth - North Sea (demo)

And the summer fun doesn’t end there... Saturday 26th July sees the first ever Alcopopalooza taking place at The Windmill in Brixton. 12 bands, including The Xcerts, The Computers, Secondsmile’s first ever acoustic set and loads more, a host of special guest DJs and a free BBQ are just part of the entertainment on offer, with the event kicking off at 4pm and running through until the early hours.
