Micah P. Hinson has been on my 'to listen' list for quite a while. Being quite a fan of artists such as M. Ward and Wilco, I had heard the name mentioned quite a few times. The album didn't disappoint, full of brilliant country tinged songs, with well thought out arrangements.

The album opens with 'Come Home Quickly, Darlin'' which showcases Hinson's lush voice and his ability to write really nice songs. 'Tell Me It Ain't So' brings in some brilliant string arrangements, which are key to Hinson's sound, along with a great chorus.

There's certainly a lot going on here, and it's sure to keep the listener entertained. Standout tracks include 'Tell Me It Ain't So', 'Throw The Stone' and 'The Wishing Well and the Willow Tree'. 'Dyin' Alone' is a brilliant, if somewhat worryingly titled end to a great album.

I'd definitely recommend checking Micah P. Hinson out. His sound is nostalgic, yet fresh, with a lot going on to keep any avid alt. country listener entertained.
